I have been debating writing this blog for quite a while, as women’s wellness can be such a personal experience. However, I figured if I can help even just one person with wellness products and vitamins that actually work for me — I call that a win!

It is no secret that women universally experience unique hormonal, immune, and general women’s health issues that can be tricky to navigate. Especially living in LA, it can be hard to filter out the noise and find women’s wellness products that actually work and are worth integrating into your routine. Below I have included 5 products that have been incredibly effective in my wellness routine - but I urge you to consult with your health practitioner before trying them out!

  1. D-Mannose (Specifically Solaray CranActin)

A Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is one of the worst experiences one can have, and my goal in my women’s wellness routine is to prevent and treat them as fast as possible. Symptoms of a UTI may include very painful urination, frequent urination, bladder and kidney inflammation, blood in urine, and even a fever. Some women are much for susceptible to them than others (myself included), so it is important to have a remedy on hand at all times.

I have used Solaray D-Mannose with CranActin for over 6 years now, and it has consistently been my magic cure. D-mannose is a simple sugar molecule that stops bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract, and can flush bacteria out of the body. Not only can it prevent UTIs with the bacterial anti-adhesion properties, it can also treat UTI symptoms and drastically decrease the downtime needed to recover. It is important to take them as soon as possible, but I have found that all of my symptoms disappear within the same day of feeling them onset. I highly recommend this one!

2. Once Daily Women’s Probiotics (Specifically Garden of Life Women’s 50 Billion CFU 16 Probiotic Strains for Digestive, Vaginal, and Immune System)

A well-balanced microbiome is absolutely crucial for maintaining overall women’s health. An all-in-one daily supplement can help all sorts of needs such as bloating, nutrient absorption, boosting the immune system, reducing inflammation, reducing yeast infection and UTI risk, mood regulation, and skin health. Normally when looking for a once daily supplement, you will want to see the strain specificity, Colony Forming Unit (CFU) count (how potent it is), probiotic blend, and shelf life stability.

I have used the Garden of Life Once Daily Probiotics also for over 6 years, and find it to be a great addition to my daily vitamin and supplement routine. I like that it has a very high CFU count, diverse as well as clinically studies probiotic strains, prebiotics, does not require refrigeration, and is non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy free. Not to mention the pink packaging! :)

3. Love Wellness Healthy Vagina Bundle (Good Girl Probiotics and Healthy V Vitamin)

When I need a more targeted approach for any symptoms of discomfort or onset yeast infection, I turn to this duo. I also love that Love Wellness uses natural ingredients, and have clinically tested their products. I particularly find that the Healthy V Vitamin works well, and I normally will only take it for about a week until my symptoms have alleviated. I will say that the supplement is quite large and has a strong smell of turmeric and garlic, so if you are sensitive to these smells, I would probably find a less triggering solution.

Though the majority of reviews are very positive — I also would not recommend this product for very sensitive stomachs, as I have read reviews of people experiencing an upset stomach and even body odor from the potent turmeric and garlic. Definitely consult your doctor before taking these, but I find them to be a game changer as antibiotics can actually cause yeast infections due to killing healthy bacteria (this has happened to me before).

In addition to the above, I recommend maintaining healthy daily habits such as a healthy diet with pre and probiotic foods, avoiding staying in wet swimwear or gym clothes for too long, consistent washing of undergarments, and avoiding too much sugar (though a sweet treat here and there is good for the soul :)).
