As a follow-up to my French Beauty post, here is the awaited reveiw of the Biologique Recherche Ambassade located in Melrose Place, Los Angeles.
The lobby is stunning, with products on display from floor to ceiling. Once you check-in, you will fill in a questionnaire and are offered water on a BR branded platter (queen treatment). If it is your first facial session, you will get a free skin instant lab which is a machine that measures hydration, insensible water loss, elasticity, pigmentation, and sebumetry. Your facialist will then go through product recommendations based on both your answers to the questionnaire and the results of the skin instant lab. The calibration levels are ‘good’, ‘moderate’, and ‘poor’. It evaluates hydration, barrier function, sensitivity, sebum, acne, blackheads, acne scars, pores, couperosis, dark spots, wrinkles, sagging/firmness, eye countour, keratinized epidermis, and external factors. These products will also be used to give you a customized facial. They email you the results in a PDF as well, so you can have your recommended product list on hand.
The space is two levels, and my treatment room was located on the second floor. My facialist was so sweet and helped me remove all of my bracelets/put them back on after the treatment. One of the most unique aspects of the experience was being given three body oil scents to choose from for the body massage portion of the treatment. They smelled so lovely!
The room is gorgeous, and you are given time to change into a branded towel robe and slippers. The treatment bed is heated, and covered in soft and comfy linens and blankets. The facial style itself is a cold facial, so no extractions are done and most of the products are at a cool temperature with cryo-sticks placed on the face. It was such a relaxing experience, with calming music playing in the background. My treatment was 45 minutes, which felt long enough based on all the different steps and products applied. I was in such a relaxed state as I floated out of the room post treatment, and my face was the glowiest I had ever seen it.
I added one more product to my routine based on my Skin Instant Lab results, the Emulsion Gel Biosensible S.R., which I have been loving. It was the best treatment I have had, with a combination of relaxing ambiance, targeted treatment, and excellent customer service. I will definitely book a treatment again, and feel so fortunate to have this special flagship within driving distance now, rather than a trip to Paris away!
