Eataly Cooking Classes

Bring out your inner Italian chef!

The next time you are racking your brain for a birthday gift or date night idea, look no further than Eataly’s cooking classes! I did one with one of my best friends for her birthday, and it was such a perfect experience, especially for someone who is not a great cook (me). You can find their calendar of different classes and booking options here.

First up, at the start of the class they have a beautiful spread of appetizers to snack on and a sommelier making the rounds with wine pours the entire class so you are never hangry or have an empty glass! You sit in pairs at the tables while the chef goes through instructions and gives a very entertaining background on the class and what you will be cooking.

All of the materials are beautifully laid out for each individual, and everyone is working at the same long table which makes it a fun, intimate experience. The coolest part was that there are monitors up above that show a zoomed in version of the chef’s demo.

Here are my little pastis! As someone who is terrible at making things from scratch, I was really proud of myself and it goes to show how great they are teaching the class and making sure everyone is on the right track! The wine glass on hand also makes it a very enjoyable time!

The best part, and a relief to non-cooking individuals out there, is that unlike most cooking classes you do not have to eat your own creations! This alone takes out the fear of booking the class and giving yourself an upset stomach. After your creations are complete (deformed or not), you get to store them in a take home box and drink your wine while the chef prepares a superior version of what you just made! The class ends with enjoying this delicious meal, with the option to go for seconds and thirds!

Enjoy and buon appetito!
