Growing up, my family’s Christmas morning tradition was for all of the adults to have Bloody Mary’s while I put on my santa hat and acted as the official gift distributor. When I turned 21 I was able to try this beloved cocktail, but unfortunately had not acquired the taste buds for it yet. Finally, last year (6 years later lol), I did another try of my dad’s cocktail and actually loved it! It has become one of my favorite cocktails to make in 2024, and so I will be sharing the recipe with you all to join in on this upcoming Christmas week!

Ingredients:

  • Ice

  • Zing Zang Bloody Mary Mix

  • Vodka (I normally use Grey Goose or Ketel One)

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • Tabasco

  • Lime

  • Celery

  • Celery Salt (optional)

  • Olives (optional)

  • Pepperochinis (optional)

  • Shrimp (optional)

  • Bacon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place ice in mixing glass

  2. Add 1/4 or 1/3 vodka (depending on how strong you want them)

  3. Add 3/4 or 2/3 Zing Zang mix

  4. Add a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce

  5. Add a few dashes of Tabasco (adjust based on how spicy you want it)

  6. Add a squeeze of lime

  7. Stir for about 30 seconds with the bar spoon (or can use the opposite side of a utensil) - you can also use a cocktail shaker instead but I prefer stirring to prevent it from getting too watery

  8. Coat 1/3 of drinking glass with lime juice from lime, and roll in or coat with celery salt (or any other type of salt you want to use)

  9. Place ice in drinking glass

  10. Strain and pour the cocktail in glass

  11. Add celery (I like to add one stick and one leafy stem)

  12. Put olives and pepperochinis on the cocktail pick and place on top of or diagonal in the drinking glass

  13. Add any other garnishes you would like - shrimp, bacon, etc.!

  14. Voila — cheers and Merry Christmas!
