I received a flood of inquiries about the freddo cappuccino I had posted on my Instagram story yesterday, so decided to share my morning routine with the rest of the world! It is extremely easy to make once you have the ingredients and tools, and is the most refreshing drink in my personal opinion. Freddo cappuccino lovers unite!

Ingredients

  • Coffee beans to make 3 shots of espresso

    • I go heavy on the caffeine, you can do less if you would like

    • You can read about my favorite Storyville coffee beans to use here

  • Ice (~4-5 cubes)

  • Milk of choice

  • Sweetener if you prefer it

    • I normally go without it, so this is optional

Tools

Step 1: Prepare Your Espresso in Your Favorite Cup

With my machine, I use the 4 bean intensity and make 3 individual espresso shots (you can make less if desired).

Optional Step: Add sweetener to your prepared espresso

Step 2: Foam the Milk

If you are using a frothing machine, make sure to use the cold foam option! Don’t forget to shake your milk before pouring!

Optional Step: If you prefer sweet cold foam, you can add sweetener to your milk prior to frothing or use an already sweetened/flavored milk

Step 3: Add Ice to the Espresso

You can do this while you wait for your milk to froth. My rule of thumb is to add just enough ice to cover the espresso.

Step 4: Scoop Out Your Frothed Milk and Create a Foam Cloud

I like to use a spoon to scoop the foam out instead of pouring so that I have more control over the shape of the foam. My favorite is to create a “cloud cone” at the top but you can have fun with it and play around with the kind of foam shape you want!

Step 5: Voila! Enjoy Your Morning Caffeine Treat!

Behold - my creations from today and yesterday!
