The Baccarat Hotel, New York

What crystal dreams are made of!

My first trip to New York was in high school where the majority of my activities were pretty touristy and centered around Times Square. A couple of years ago, I took my first trip as an adult and wanted to make it a super memorable experience. One of the hotels I stayed at was the gorgeous Baccarat Hotel, located in Midtown East. Though the location was a bit far from most of the restaurants and bars I went to in Soho and the West Village, it was well worth the five star experience.

First up, the lobby is a jaw dropping statement piece on its own with lit up crystal glassware, light pieces, chandeliers, and a floor to ceiling crystal entrance.

The certerpiece of the room is the luxurious bed with Mascioni linens and a Baccarat branded throw blanket. There is a great skyline view with a lounging couch. The bathroom is absolutely stunning with marble countertops, perfect selfie lighting, a bathtub, and large rainfall shower. It is stocked with Maison Kurkdjian hair and body products, which smell absolutely heavenly. There are thoughtful small touches such as a feather pen, chocolates, hand sanitizer spray, and Baccarat glassware (see video below). If you booked through Fine Hotels & Resorts, you get a breakfast room service credit which was delicious, and gave me my LA avocado toast fix. The coolest feature of the room in my opinion is the mirror TV; I was able to binge Sex and the City while experiencing the City.

The Grand Salon is an incredible experience, and dripping with crystal everywhere. I reunited with my old roommate and best friend for afternoon tea. The service, presentation, and ambiance were top notch. There are Baccarat crystal accents everywhere, and gorgeous red rose arrangements. We got cocktails in the salon the next evening, and was where I fell in love with the Baccarat Massena Coupe glasses. It is an older crowd overall, but still a spectacular experience and would definitely dine again.

I treated myself to a facial at the La Mer Spa, which is located underneath the hotel. The facial was absolutely magical with a large spa locker room, and had such a relaxing atmosphere. I love to get facials because most times you also get a massage, and this one was one of the best I have ever experienced. The spa also connects to the hotel pool, which is beautifully designed. The heated pool has an aesthetic checkered floor, and the space is covered in marble with daybed cabanas. Definitely a great spot for a photo op!

Overall, my stay at the hotel was a ten out of ten experience. It definitely influenced my love for the brand, and I continue to expand my Baccarat glassware collection. Everytime I whip out my Baccarat glasses, I reminisce my amazing time at the hotel.
