I started getting eyelash extensions about 5 years ago when I first moved to Seattle. I did a ton of research on highly rated businesses that had an emphasis on eye safety, customization of lashes, and cleanliness of the business. As a true Virgo, I investigate every product, business, and service like my life depends on it. After scouring the internet for several weeks and falling into many rabbit holes, I decided on trying out Noir Lash Lounge and have been hooked ever since (even after moving from Seattle to Santa Monica).
Noir Lash Lounge is woman-owned and AAPI-owned, which gives you even more of a reason to become a loyal customer. They have performed over 200,000 sets of eyelash extensions, and it is the core service offered at their lounges across all locations. When you come for your first appointment at Noir Lash Lounge, your lash technician will consult with you on different styles, lengths, lash types, and volume. You are in control of the customization of your lashes, rather than receiving a one-size-fits-all set not suited to your eye shape or preferences (this can be the case with other businesses). There would be nothing worse than taking a leap of faith in investing in enhancing your eyes, and walking out with giant caterpillars on your eyes. I see too many of these caterpillar businesses promoted on social media and feel like it’s my duty to stop gatekeeping Noir Lash Lounge!
I prefer natural looking lashes, that still enhance my eyes with a doll-like look. That is the benefit of going to Noir Lash Lounge — you get the option to choose between classic and volume lashes. If you are inspired by my lash before and after pictures below, the style I get is called “Doll Face” with lengths 14mm, 12mm, 10mm, and 9mm. I get compliments at least every other week (even from strangers) on my lashes as they look so natural, yet beautifully accentuate my face and eyes. Whenever I get a new fill or set, I always spend at least fifteen minutes admiring them in the mirror and practicing batting my lashes on my next nonexistent date.
In addition to creating gorgeous eyelash extension sets, Noir Lash Lounge protects the eye safety of its clients by integrating a lash cleanse with every fill set, and performing a removal and full set if a lot of time has passed. When researching a lash business, it is important that you do not prioritze “groupon deals” at the expense of eye and eyelash safety. Eye conditions can occur if you are not working with an eyelash professional following safety measures!
The general timing to get a lash fill is every two to three weeks; I get mine every two weeks as I have a lot of eyelashes (as you can see above) and individual lashes shed along with your own lash shedding cycle. The lounges themselves are always extremely sanitary, with hand washing before each session, and disinfecting of beds and head pillows between each client.
