Masa Beverly Hills: The New Sushi Take-Out Box on the Block

Step aside Sugarfish, Masa Sushi in Beverly Hills is coming for your crown!

The Sugarfish Trust Me take-out box has played a core role in my takeout rotation upon moving back to LA. I love the concept of being able to have a premium sushi meal in my own home, organized bento style. This past weekend, I decided to try Masa Beverly Hills’ takeout box. I’ll be honest that I was doubtful the quality could be that much better than Sugarfish’s. I was wrong!

First off, the presentation of everything is taken to the next level. The bag that it arrives in screams luxury, the box itself has 2 built in ice packs for optimal temperature upon arrival, and the instruction sheet is categorized well. I was instantly amazed without even taking a bite!

Now for the sushi itself — you can see from the picture below that the quality of the fish is on a whole different level. This is the presentation I would expect at a premium omakase experience, and it was right in front of me! I ordered ‘The Signature Experience’, which includes edemame, salmon sashimi (3 pieces), salmon sushi (2 pieces), albacore sushi (2 pieces), bluefin tuna sushi (2 pieces), red snapper sushi (2 pieces), yellowtail sushi (2 pieces), and a spicy tuna cut roll (8 pieces).

The salmon sashimi was so delicious, and I loved the spicy tuna cut role. Each selection of sushi was absolutely incredible, I inhaled the whole box in record time. I would have to say that my favorite was the red snapper sushi, as it was unique pairing it with lemon and salt (and tasted oh so fresh)! Note — I paired this meal with my newest passionfruit martini which I will be publishing to my wine + cocktails page sometime this month!

Also, look at how cute these bottles are for the Ponzu and Soy Sauce! ‘The Signature Experience’ was $75, which is a bit higher than Sugarfish’s prices — but well worth it! They have a ‘The Experience’ box for $55 with 8 pieces of sushi, and a ‘The Ultimate Experience’ box for $99 with 13 pieces of sushi. I would much rather pay a premium fee for this takeout experience as it was so next level!

Masa Beverly Hills definitely takes the crown for the best takeout experience in the Los Angeles area, and will take the newest top spot for my takeout rotation! You can check out their website and order for pick-up here, or order via Postmates here. Their Instagram handle is @masabeverlyhills. Enjoy!
