My favorite annual (boozy) holiday tradition? Shaking up the perfect chocolate martini! While I was heartbroken to learn that Godiva’s Chocolate Liqueur was discontinued last year, I found an even better alternative. Cheers to all the home bartenders out there this holiday season!
As a reminder, all of my recipes are for the intuitive mixologists so I only include percentages!
Ingredients:
Vodka (I usually use Grey Goose or Ketel One - please do not use Tito’s!!)
Chocolate chips or melts (Guittard is the best :))
Sprinkles (here is a fun option)
Ice
Tools:
Cocktail Shaker
Martini glass
Microwaveable bowl or cup (for melting the chocolate)
Knife or piping bag (for drizzling the chocolate)
Paper towel, plate, or cutting board (for rolling the sprinkles)
Shop My Mixology Toolkit:
Instructions:
Melt chocolate and drizzle in a spiral pattern in martini glass using a knife or piping bag
Place melted chocolate also on the outside rim on 1/2 to 3/4 of the glass (doing a full rim always looks tacky to me and becomes hard to easily take a sip)
Roll the outside rim melted chocolate in the sprinkles
Put ice in cocktail shaker
Pour ~ 30% vodka, ~ 40% Bailey’s, and ~ 30% chocolate liqueur
Shake, shake, shake!
Pour into martini glass
Enjoy!
