The Best Wine Store in Los Angeles

None other than The Wine House!

If you have read any of my wine reviews, you probably already know that my favorite wine store to purchase from is The Wine House. It has an incredible selection, and always has the best prices (either same or lower than Total Wine or Bevmo! sale prices). Even though it is called The Wine House, it also has a vast selection of high quality spirits, beer, and snacks. Their customer care is the best in the business, and they can always help me find what I am looking for. I am especially fond of it, because I signed up to take my WSET certification classes here. It is always a fun Sunday activity for me to take a trip here!

The rooftop parking entrance to the building, located at 2311 Cotner Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90064.

When you arrive, there is a driveway that leads up to the rooftop for parking. The rooftop entrance leads to a staircase down to the main level floor. You will pass by the new Wine House Kitchen restaurant, which I have been wanting to try and will do a separate review of!

The space is huge, and areas are sectioned off with big signs signaling the region and type of wine. Everything is also lined up in alphabetical order, which makes it especially easy to spot the wine you are looking for. Sometimes I miss one that was clearly in front of me; a helpful eye at customer care will locate it for you if needed. If you are just browsing, this store is a great introduction to wines from different regions if you are not familiar. They also include wine rating signs for a selection of bottles. For those of you who prefer half bottles, they have the best quality, widest selection I have seen!

If you are not sure where to start, I advise grabbing someone from Customer Care and/or tasting their selection from the tasting room. You can check out the tasting selection online here. In the past I stuck to what I knew and had my choices on rotation, but here I am always confident that I will receive a recommendation I will love. I have expanded to many new types of wine, especially after completing my WSET certifications.

At checkout, they have a speedy chilling machine if you are wanting to open any bottles same day or have an event to go to. If you bought more bottles than you can carry (me most of the time), you can swing your car out front and they will bring it out and load it into your car! Talk about A++ service!

If you are interested in signing up for a wine class, they offer a wide variety, including WSET and specific wine/spirit courses. I highly recommend taking classes with Monica Marin, Director of WSET & WSEG Education Programs. From their website: “Monica has been named 2021 SWS Instructor of the Year, 2019 FWS Instructor of the Year and is one of ten educators worldwide nominated by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) as an Educator of the Year for 2019”. I had her for both of my certification classes, and she was phenomenal! I am excited to sign up for her WSET Level 3 course at some point this year.

One of the best offerings of the store is curbside pickup. If I already know what I need, I place an order online and it is always ready same day. They have spots out in front to park for pickup, and once you check-in they will help you put your order into your car. If you do not live in Los Angeles but want to order from The Wine House, do not fret! They offer domestic shipping, messenger service, local delivery, and international shipping! Definitely check out their website and sign up for their email subscripton, as they always have great deals, classes, and interesting highlights on various wines. Cheers!
