The Genovian Pear Martini
Fit for Queen Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi!
This week I had a major craving for a pear martini, so decided it was time to create the perfect recipe.
Ingredients:
Jarred Pears or Fresh Pears
1 Lemon (+ Lemon Peel Garnish)
Grey Goose La Poire Pear Vodka
Ice
Tools:
Blender
Cocktail Shaker
Lemon Squeezer (optional but helpful)
Martini Glass
Here are my ingredients. If you have a Bristol Farms near you, they conveniently carry jarred bartlett pears. I did also get fresh pears, so will do a comparison once they ripen.
I started out by blending one pear chunk and a few spoonfuls of the jar juice.
Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, then pour in your fresh pear purée.
Cut your lemon in half, and squeeze it into the shaker using your lemon squeezer (or hands, if you have macho finger muscles).
Add in your pear vodka. As you know by now, I never measure anything so use your best judgement on how strong you need it.
Shake, shake, shake, and voila! Pour your creation into a martini glass and add a lemon peel garnish. I think in my next iteration I will use less lemon (1/4 lemon), and 2 pear chunks. This is definitely a nice, refreshing lemon-forward variation. Cheers!
