Eye creams can be a very controversial topic in the beauty industry, as there are claims of anti-aging thrown at consumers left and right with some products only functioning as a glorified moisturizer. Eye cream is considered one of the most valuable skincare products, and brands invest a ton of money into advertising efforts. Consumers also see a wide range of effectiveness — from seeing little to no results, having a negative reaction such as stinging or milia development, or great results in diminishing dark circles and under eye wrinkles.

I have tried several eye creams over the years including brands like Caudalie, Chantecaille, Chanel, Dior, Biologique Recherche (all of my other skin products), Fresh, Tata Harper, and La Mer. Some of these had very solid results, but none can even compare to Medical Beauty Research (MBR).

Medical Beauty Research (MBR) is a German band, and specializes in developing products with the highest active ingredient concentrations. You may have seen its product line at popular spas such as Rescue Spa and Joanna Czech (and several other leading spas across the globe).

MBR is not for everyone, however, as their pricing is for luxury skincare consumers willing to dish out hundreds to thousands of dollars for their products. The good news though, is that these products seriously work. I personally would much rather invest the money into something that actually works, than throwing it away on products that only give small incremental results (if any at all). I even confidently choose it over a more invasive method, which can come with high risks if performed by the wrong practitioner.

The main eye cream I want to highlight is their Eye Cream Smooth 100, which is priced around $700 USD depending on the retailer. It firms the eye area, improves microcirculation, calms swelling, significantly reduces dark circles, minimized muscle contractions, and stimulates collagen — to name just a handful of its benefits. It is actually magic how this product can drastically minimize dark circles and the firmness around the eyes in a short time period.

I did investigate one of their eye creams in a lower price range, the EyeLift Cream, which retails for about $200 USD. This product is an amazing hydrator for the area around the skin, but I did not see the same level of improvement to dark circles or skin firmness as I did with the Eye Cream Smooth 100. If you do not suffer from dark circles or eye sagging, the EyeLift Cream is a wonderful product to include in your regimen — and will hydrate much better than other popular brands.

I am almost out of the EyeLift Cream, so will be switching back to the Eye Cream Smooth 100 — and I cannot wait! Especially for night owls such as myself who sit in front of several computer screens all day, it is imperative that I have an eye cream that actually works. You can shop the eye creams via my ShopMy edit below. I have also included their ‘Lip ID’ lip balm, which is another favorite MBR product of mine and takes lip hydration to a new level. If anyone else out there has tried different MBR products, I would love to hear your thoughts!
