Wine Review: 2017 Royal Tokaji 5 Puttonyos, Tokaji Aszú

Tokaj, Hungary

Purchase here

What a treat! This Tokaji is a beautiful deep gold color, with pronounced aromatic intensity. The nose has primary notes of dried apricots, raisins, dried mangos, and orange marmalade. There are secondary notes of vanilla and cedar, and tertiary notes of honey, caramel, and dried chamomile (is developing).

The wine is sweet with high acid, medium alcohol, full body, and pronounced flavor intensity. Its flavor notes include dehydrated apricots, vanilla, cedar, honey, and orange marmalade. The quality is between very good and outstanding! Drink now, but there is potential for further aging. I highly, highly recommend this one!
