Wine Review: 2021 Conscious Wines Alder Springs Vineyard Chardonnay

Mendocino County, CA

This California chardonnay is one of the best wines I have had in a while! It is a stunning pale lemon color with gold hues. It is a dry wine with medium nose intensity and aromas of lemon, peach, and brioche. Its flavor intensity is medium+ with notes of lemon, ripe golden apple, white peach, some tropical fruits like mango, brioche from the maloactic fermentation, vanilla oak notes, and some minerality/flintiness on the palate. It is a perfectly balanced wine with medium+ acid, medium+ body, medium alcohol, and a medium+ to long finish. Don’t miss out on this exceptional, must-try chardonnay!

Clones 76 and 95 from the East Face block of Alder Springs Vineyard. Lemon zest, honey crisp apples, flint, sea salt, and a hint of sandalwood. Great balance of oak and acidity that lingers on the finish.
