Wine Review: 2021 The Prisoner Red Blend

Oakville, CA

It is no secret that The Prisoner is famous for its red blend wine. I first tried the wine at their winery in Napa. There are notes of cherry, dark berries, sweet spice, leather, and tobacco. It is a gorgeous deep ruby color, full-bodied, and very good quality. It feels so smooth on the palate and is well balanced. It is perfect for an after dinner treat!

(2019), 91 Points - Delicious and generous, this full-bodied wine is also well balanced and has a slightly grippy texture that counters its richness and ripeness. Blackberries, black cherries and light oak spices like cinnamon and cocoa add nice touches.

I will do a review of the winery in a separate Napa winery trip post!
