Perfume shopping is serious business, and it can take countless visits to various department stores and perfume boutiques to find that perfect scent. I had been wanting to visit Beverly Hills Perfumery for a while now, and finally made an appointment this weekend. I am so glad I did, as both the customer service and experience was above and beyond. This is the one and only perfume store you need, and are bound to find your perfect match in one visit!

264 N Beverly Dr. Beverly Hills, CA 90210

The Perfumery is located next to Sephora, and down the street from the new Beverly Hills Erewhon. You need to make an appointment or call ahead, then ring the doorbell when you arrive, as the store gets very busy. Upon walking in, I was amazed at the rows and rows of gorgeous perfume bottles. There are jars with paper strips and pens scattered throughout the store, which makes it very easy self-service to try out different scents and write down the names. You can read about the extensive collection of niche brands that they carry here. Their Instagram account (@bhperfumery) also features their brands and store updates.

I say niche brands, as this is not where you go to get a Le Labo or Byredo or Baccarat Rouge. You can go to department stores for these, but this store carries so many brands I had never even heard of and was drooling over the exquisite packaging and bottles. I felt like I had entered a top secret perfume utopia. My usual scent is Baccarat Rouge 540, but since every influencer has promoted the product, it feels less special to me that so many people wear it now. I wanted to find something that still captivated me, but a scent that less people would know about.

One of the coolest features of the store, is the section in the back that has perfumes dating all the way back to the 1700s! You are able to smell iconic perfumes from each decade.

I started out browsing on my own as I had no idea what I wanted, and probably tried over 60 perfumes in total. It is such a fun activity trying different scents, I could spend several hours there on a regular basis. The owner, Alan, was incredibly helpful and was the most patient in helping me find the perfect scent. He was somehow able to navigate the all-over-the-place ideas I had from something ultra masculine to sweet. With each customer that walked in, he kindly greeted everyone and helped people get exactly what they were looking for.

My top five picks were from the brands Initio and Montale Paris. The scents that Alan had recommended from Montale Paris all ended up being the very top winners for me, and I will most definitely be back to purchase one or more of the full sized bottles. They have samples available for purchase so you can try it out at home before the final decision. The prices of the samples are so reasonable, ranging from $5-$9 each. If you purchase a bottle, you get four samples free, and if you already purchased samples and come back for the bottle, you get the price of four samples deducted from the total. What a deal!

I loved my experience at the store, and definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a new perfume, or want to stop by for a fun daytime activity!

Parking: I recommend the parking structure next to Erewhon Beverly Hills, which offers 2 hours free parking! My pin drop on my phone shows the address as 331 N Beverly Dr. I took a screenshot of what the entrance looks like from the Maps view below!
