Wine Review: 2019 Peake Ranch Chardonnay

Santa Barbara County, CA

This medium-bodied chardonnay is a beautiful lemon color. A perfect crisp wine for a sunny day, it will pair well with a range of salty to umami appetizers. It is a little acidic for my personal chardonnay taste preference, but overall very good with a long finish. There are notes of orange blossom, grassiness, stone fruit, pineapple, and butter from malolactic fermentation. I would definitely purchase again.

The appellation 2019 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County comes from the Sierra Madre and Peake Ranch vineyards. Light golden, with a rocking nose of buttered citrus, tangerine, honeysuckle, flower oil, and spice, it’s medium-bodied and has a bright, vibrant spine of acidity, terrific balance, and a great finish. It’s one stunning entry level wine!
